Career Orienteer2 is an innovative response to disproportionate levels of poverty and complex social and economical barriers to employment faced by BME communities, especially Black African (Somali), Bangladeshi and BME young people, who show some of the highest levels of unemployment or economic inactivity in Islington.
The programme is funded by Trust for London and Islington Council.
We're managing this programme in partnership with Octopus Community Network, who focus on the up-skilling of Employability Guidance Practitioners in small BME organisations, while we support delivery provided at the grass-roots through BME organisations in Islington.
The three BME organisations selected to work closely with their communities to deliver this two-year pilot are: Islington Bangladesh Association Islington Somali Community Choices CIC |
